@4P thanks! I got fabric to bind it today, so I’m happy.

@Mom that sounds right. I never replied to one of those modeling things either. I’ve always been quite aware that I do not have the face or body type of a model…so it would be useless to try to be one. Plus I like food. So whether or not they were scams, those weren’t even attractive offers.

Also, I think I did enter that legitimate contest and placed in it. No anthology, but I got some young poets letter thing.

One day someone suggested you enter a poetry contest she had heard about. You looked up the information and submitted a poem. You were told that your poem had been accepted and would be published in an anthology that would cost just $X (I’ve forgotten how much). I said that something sounded wrong with it and suggested that you ask Grandmommy, who is a poet, about it. She said it was like vanity publishing and told a story of a fellow poet who spent $500 for the book and a convention of authors and so on. She then gave you information about a legitimate contest. I can’t recall whether you entered it or were just too disgusted to enter another contest.

We often received offers of modeling jobs for you and your sister, but I didn’t want either of you involved in modeling, scam or legit, and we never replied to any. At least, I never replied to any and I hope neither of you did either.
