The Frugal Things To Do In… series is a great idea, and I’m glad to see that people have been willing to post on it. As someone living in Washington, DC on a budget, I have definitely been struggling to find fun things to do that won’t hit my wallet too hard. I’ve been surprised at how little information there is out there on the web on what kinds of activities there are in various cities. Thanks to M-Life for filling the void.

Mrs. Micah, I love that you still quilt by hand. My grandmother still does it on occasion, but it’s not something I ever got into. I picked up knitting and crochetting as a way to try to craft a little bit – I don’t have the eye for color needed for quilting, I don’t think! But what a wonderful hobby.

@Ryan/Patrick, thanks. Quilting (especially by hand) takes discipline and commitment…but I find it very worthwhile.
