Thanks for mentioning our frugal things to do in series!!

I did some quilting on my vacation. I was thinking of posting about it on my blog since it's turned out to be a really fun creative and inexpensive wedding gift.

Thanks for linking to our "frugal things to do in.." series - we appreciate everyone getting the word out. And if you don't see your city on the list, write up your own frugal things post and send it in. We'll post all of those links at the end of the month, as well as adding them to the map!

The Frugal Things To Do In... series is a great idea, and I'm glad to see that people have been willing to post on it. As someone living in Washington, DC on a budget, I have definitely been struggling to find fun things to do that won't hit my wallet too hard. I've been surprised at how little information there is out there on the web on what kinds of activities there are in various cities. Thanks to M-Life for filling the void.

Mrs. Micah, I love that you still quilt by hand. My grandmother still does it on occasion, but it's not something I ever got into. I picked up knitting and crochetting as a way to try to craft a little bit - I don't have the eye for color needed for quilting, I don't think! But what a wonderful hobby.

@Squawkfox, thanks. :) It seems like a pretty dramatic conversation though I probably won't be joining it further.

@Ryan/Patrick, thanks. Quilting (especially by hand) takes discipline and commitment...but I find it very worthwhile.

Quilting is becoming a lost art, you know. Good to see someone keeping it alive! Thanks for the mention. :)

Wow, some great links here. I read a few of them...but not all of them (I didn't have the time). Personally I am not a quilter and I am not really into any crafts, but I still admire you for them

You. Are. Awesome. You totally "get" my post comparing cars to smoking. THANK YOU! I've spent the last day just shaking my head over being called silly names and receiving terrible email. People are indeed reacting the same way about cars as they do with smoking. Your comments on my blog are brilliant.
