When I was working on this roundup, I remembered seeing a really good article over at plonkee‘s. Unfortunately, when I went over I found 4. And I couldn’t pick. So if you don’t read her, then here are 4 quality articles she’s written in the last week or so. And if you like them, subscribing might be a good idea…so you can experience the awesomeness on your own.
Plonkee wrote about things that you don’t deserve (in response to this by Pinyo), how credit cards are like alcohol, what one should do about splitting things financially if one person earns more than another (this one generated a ton of conversation!), and wondered why there seem to be more dodgy salesmen than saleswomen (maybe your experience says otherwise? maybe you’ve got an idea?).
Also this week I hosted the Carnival of Vampire Slaying (I mean personal finance). If you happen to be bored this weekend, you’ll find a lot of good reading there. As well as a fan video based around the graduation episode…which I confess to watching about 12 times while setting up the carnival.
Now for the roundup itself:
I ran across two posts this month on the Diva cup, one of my favorite discoveries yet.
Squawkfox writes about the 10 reasons it’ll change your life and Cheap Like Me details her experience…including the rocky start that led to true love. I’m glad she shared everything, since it may take some adjusting to make it work right. Still, I highly recommend giving it a shot.
Debt Hater went to a women’s group for those in or coming out of debt. She came away with the impression that while women may have caught up in other ways, many need a lot more financial education.
Gibble told a story about why sometimes it’s better just to pay skilled professionals to do things instead of doing them yourself.
That One Caveman (not from Geico) has some tips for fighting tech lust. I was fighting tech lust last week after playing with a happy little Mac. Now I want one. And my laptop. and another one to run Linux on. Not gonna happen.
That’s all we have the time or energy for this week folks. Lot of good posts out there but I’m still recovering from the whole carnival thing. Happy Sunday!

Ohh I love the Diva Cup. I’m so happy we’re all writing about it. It’s a genius product which really makes a huge difference. Indeed it’s friendly to both the wallet and environment, but it’s sooooo much better than other “feminine hygiene” gear. I really can’t stop raving about it. 🙂
Yup, I don’t sell insurance and nothing is so “so easy, even I can do it.”
I’ve honestly not even touched a “modern” Mac, I just know I want one. I fear if I walked into one of the Apple stores, I’d have trouble walking out empty-handed.
Thanks for including me in your roundup.
I love the site. Diva Cup is awesome and I like That one Caveman went in the Apple Store empty handed and came out with a laptop and ipod touch. Love them
I can’t believe how overboard you went on my links. I feel very privileged.
I’m getting some great responses on how people split finances (or think that finances should be split) so I reckon there’s a solution for everyone.
Thanks, Mrs. Micah! I’m about to try another go-round … hopefully I will love it even more this month!
