The title is slightly misleading, this isn’t a roundup of everything I do when I’m feeling silly. That would take a book and involve some llamas. No, this just begins with the sort of thing I do when I’m silly.
As some of you know, I like to use Twitter to chat with various friends. Well, there’s a feature called Twitter Tools which lets me do various things with twitter and the blog.
Well, combine that with unlimited subdomains, hosting, decent familiarity with WordPress….and a lot of late-night sillyness and you end up with http://twitter.financefreelancelife.com. It has a sidebar with my most recent posts and posts a daily digest (but not midnight EST to midnight EST, unfortunately, I think it’s on GMT)
of all the previous day’s tweets.
Pure sillyness. I did it because it was there. Anyway, if you ever feel like seeing what Mrs. Micah thinks and talks about, that’s the place to look.
Starting off with a few concerns for friends. Pete’s wife (@ BibleMoneyMatters) is in the hospital. Blood clots [edit…whoops, not “blog clots”], but they seem to be resolving. And Gibble just learned that his mother has breast cancer. Even with good survival rates, very scary.
Other good posts:
Small Cents (now Almost Frugal) wrote a great bit about used baby clothes. I agree with her that most things don’t need to be bought new, just clean.
Pinyo was actually attacked by another driver. Physically. It’s astounding, I don’t even understand what would leave one driver to assault another. Fortunately, things turned out well, he’s ok, his car is in pretty good shape, and his wife/son weren’t with him.
Single Guy did something awesome for a woman who was terrifi about losing her home…he listened to her. Sometimes that’s all you an do.
Plonkee was reminded on a train ride that net worth and actual available money aren’t always the same thing.
Patrick at Cash Money Life has some good tips on saving money with refurbished electronics. I agree…buying new isn’t necessary.
If you’re selling, My Two Dollars wrote about improving your home’s appearance to buyers…simple tips to make it much more attractive.
Dough Roller would like to know if you “steal” money from your spouse. I don’t…I can’t imagine. Even $20 that he’d planned on having would be a real pain for him later.
Gather Little by Little addresses the UFF MMA and whether or not it’s a scam. The UFF MMA is a way of paying of your mortgage earlier. It’s done as a multi-level-marketing company, which makes all of us wary. I think his take is fair.
Paid Twice has some tips for cutting down your wedding expenses. I’m hoping to post more about ours this month.
And Lynnae asks for your feedback on Urban Homesteading. What sorts of things do you do yourself? Line-drying? Growing herbs?
Well that’s all for now. SIL was here this weekend, which was fun but tired me out. Besides working two shifts Saturday, I went to the Museum of American Art and Portraiture with her. Good stuff, but my feet ache.

Well, gosh Mrs Micah, thanks!
Still haven’t gotten used to using Twitter yet but it seems like everyone’s on board. Waiting to see if it’ll sputter out like some of the other previous fads
I’m sorry to hear about Pete’s wife’s illness. I hope she makes a full recovery soon, and that he’s bearing up well during a difficult period; so I feel guilty about saying that the idea of “blog clots” made me giggle.
I, too wish Pete’s wife a speedy recovery.I have to say, though, that I, too, feel a wee bit bad that I absolutely loved “blog clots,” which was still how it read in my reader.
Next time I have writer’s block that’s what I’m going to call it.
Hey,
The links for Dough Roller and Being Frugal aren’t right.
Wow. You’re really dedicated to twittering. 🙂
Thanks, Jon…I’ll get those fixed!
@Pinyo, or really silly.
