I have gotten reconditioned Dells and I just pop the hard drive out of one and into the new one. That said, I am hard on laptops. They go back and forth to work with me and I am pretty sure dog hair is NOT good for them. Nor is bumping around in the car. My last two have been handed down to my teenage children.
