Ok, procrastinators…anybody still need software for their taxes? I’ve got 1 copy of H&R Block’s Premium Tax Cut Online for Federal + State + free eFile to give away. Since it’s online, all you need is the information they sent me, which I can forward on to you.
Since tax season is quickly drawing to a close, I’ll pick the winner on Friday morning (around 10 or 11am EST) by using random.org. To enter, nothing fancy…just leave a comment on this post or e-mail mrsmicah at my gmail address. Any entries before I pick the winner are valid…I don’t want to set a cut off but if you haven’t left one by 10am EST Friday, you’re not likely to get it. I’m not being too structured since this was a last minute thing I worked out this afternoon.
Just make sure to use your real e-mail address in the comment so I can e-mail you the information.
And in good news, our (main) taxes are done and filed. The Fed owes us $1300 and the state of MD owes us $92. Yay for Car payment, Roth IRA, and a dinner out.
Um…and in less awesome news, I still have to prepare filings for 3 other states. The thing is that my expected return in each is less than the cost of tax software. So I’m going to do them by hand, as I’ve done before. I’m starting on that now. It shouldn’t be too hard, I’ve got all the information together. (Plus, TaxCut doesn’t do partial resident or non-resident. Ugh.)
I don’t know if we’ll get much from them, but it’ll be something. I’ll mention our expected returns when I announce the winner.

Hoooray for large tax returns. We are also quite pleased at the size of ours. Are you going to get the economic stimulus deal as well? We are looking forward to putting ours into savings – not at all what good old George had hoped. 🙂
I would love to use this program to finish it all this weekend.
