It's always interesting to read other people's ideas of what constitutes a frugal wedding. I'm pretty sure that Young and I will end up being much more frugal about our wedding than this. Of course, it helps that we're not planning to invite very many people. :-)

We have two girls whose weddings should not be too far off.

For us, the family rallies around on functions like this. Wedding planning, sorting out the catering etc, will be done by one of my children's gazillion aunts and uncles.

Photgraphy and videography will be some cousin's duty.

Thankfully weddings are not too much of a money drainer for our family.

Since when are Save the Dates or out-of-towner packages required? These are all new in the last decade or so, and just ways to get you to spend more on weddings. Favors are older, but c'mon, who needs a random candle? The invitation is a better memento anyway. If you must have a favor, maybe group the favors (candles, vases, flowers in pots) to make the centerpiece.
