Strangely, January 31st seems like the day for celebration—like New Year’s Eve. I can’t quite think why, but has been a good month for a lot of things, especially this blog.
Visitor numbers almost doubled (and I thought last month was great…)! Thanks once again to all the new subscribers! If you’re enjoying the site but haven’t subscribed through RSS, consider using this link to subscribe in a reader. Or if you don’t use an RSS reader, you can sign up here to be e-mailed every time I update (if you be brave enough to handle my frequent posting).
As for my monthly goal of earning $250 through various blog-related methods, I fell a little short but I may reach it next month. My year goal of earning $2000 after tax per month doesn’t kick in until April. We’re getting there.
Some highlights from the blog….
I hosted two of the biggest personal finance carnivals this month:
Carnival of Personal Finance #134 — Building on the Basics Edition
Festival of Frugality #110 — Simple Categories Edition
At the beginning of this month, I was interviewed by Jim at Blueprint for Financial Prosperity.
I reflected that I shouldn’t be ashamed that I can’t afford new clothes right now. Mine are quite suitable and in good repair.
My more recent post on the expense of bridesmaids’ dresses got quite a bit of traffic and response. Apparently it is indeed as universal a concern as I’d thought.
Happy almost February! How was your month?

Thats really great traffic growth, congratulations!
Congratulations to you, Mrs. Micah, and continued success!
Hey, Mrs. M,
That’s just fantastic! I’m seeing some great growth on my site as well, but I can only aspire to be as successful as you’ve been so far!

How was my month? Hmmm… well, disastrous is a good adjective that quickly comes to mind. I met some goals and failed some others, but I did it with flair, is all I have to say!
On the other had, I did have a little over 700 unique site visitors this month, my very first full month of blogging.
