They sound like reasonable goals. I hope they all come to pass, and then some.

Mine are to figure out how to make my new blog work; probably to move it to a different hosting site and convert to better software; and to build readership. Someday I'd like it to make a little money, but that doesn't seem realistic yet.

Meanwhile, my 2008 financial goal is to salt away $10,000, putting as much as possible in my Roth IRA and the rest in a conservative Vanguard fund by a) saving $250 a month out of my salary and b) netting $3500 a semester teaching online courses.

Over the next three years, I need to build an enterprise that will reliably net $12,000 a year, the amount Social Security and my savings will fall short of supporting me when I retire. I want to retire at 65 (well...66, in my cohort), but to do that I need a home-based business that does not depend on landing underpaid teaching contracts and that provides a more predictable income than freelance editing or writing.

Those are all great stretch goals that are achievable by continuing your hard work.

$125 on the blog is great. In no way is your site turning into a MFA (Made for Adsense) sort of site and you deserve to be compensated for your work.

I think your goals are certainly attainable and I wish you the best.

I'm trying to pre-write my posts one week in advance to give myself some breathing room. I'm also hope to increase the number of visitors to my site by 30%.

Hi Mrs M - Good luck on achieving your goals and putting them in writing.

I'm still working out my financials to see where I am so far - but my priority is to break even on my plumbing business by the end of the first quarter.
