I did some experimenting with social bookmarking sites this weekend. I learned how to use Del.icio.us, I revived my Digg account, I Stumbled some of my favorite blog posts (from your blogs and mine), and I even signed up for Twitter.
(I tried to sign up for a Facebook account, but they won’t let people use “Mrs” as their first name. And I can’t use MrsMicah as one work because they want a last name. Any suggestions for creating a findable username on there?)
It’d be cool if anyone wanted to friend me on these sites, because I don’t really know who uses what.
So far, my twittering has been kind of depressing. I don’t know why but I’ve been in a funk all weekend. Maybe it’s because Mr. Micah’s been off doing recording stuff. Maybe it’s because I spent the weekend at my parents’ house and it feels weird to be back here. Maybe because I realized how much crap I keep at their house and how it’ll never fit in the apartment.
Anyway, I have a Twitter page. If anyone else would like to be my Twitter friend, that’d be cool. Would anyone like me to install the widget on the blog–more of the personal side of Mrs. Micah? Or do you not care? I’m feeling depressed and ambivalent about it, so you won’t offend me by saying that you don’t like twitter.

I haven’t tried twitter. I’m not sure how often I’d be interested in updating it myself – most of the time I haven’t got anything really interesting to say without an actual audience.
You could try Misses for the first name and Micah as the last.
I started a myspace page, but decided I couldn’t keep up with it. My brother has a facebook one, but I’m just not much for ‘social’ clubs- guess my loner-ism comes out.
I’ve heard about Twitter on NPR but I’m resolved that I don’t need yet another grad school distraction…hehe.
And yes, recording depresses me too. And so do seminar papers. And so does having a sister and brother in law who live far away. Sniffle. But Mr. Nathan just got me some wine and we’re making a happy spaghetti supper, so it’s not all bad, right?
Good luck with the fluffies!!!!
Good idea, Dawn! Maybe I’ll use “Missus Micah.” I’ll post about it when I make the account–I did send a note to the Facebook guys, but I doubt they’ll let me use “Mrs. Micah.”
Can you use just the initial “M” for your first name on Facebook?
I’ll give that a shot too. Facebook got back to me but they’re useless. I mean, there’s thousands of people who use some form of a pseudonym on there. It just knows mine is (and mine’s more valid than others….) and rejects me. *sigh* I could always come up with a fake name, make “Mrs. Micah” my nickname (like Firstname “Mrs. Micah” Lastname), and see how that works.
I used a pseudonym for three years. Mine was “re member”. I used it so I could do research on the college kids that I know. Several of them found me and now I have changed to my real name.
You could just try “Mi Cah”. “M Micah” seems like it could work. “PF Micah”. . . etc.
So do you like Twitter? I find it obnoxious. I’m on my third go-round with them and about to cancel again…
