I would like to announce that I’ve earned enough this month through Associated Content that I can buy my own domain. financefreelancelife.com just went live!
Not only that, but I’ve earned over $18, meaning that there’s less than $2 left (or one more published article) until I have passed my goal of $20 in alternative income for October. And it’s so early in the month yet!
I’m feeling very successful.
Here are links to my three newest articles:
2 ways to give more on a low income.
Sell your skills or sell your stuff (don’t sell yourself, though). Also volunteer, but this article is specifically about ways to come up with money for a group, perhaps an international relief group which doesn’t have volunteer opportunities in your area. Based off my post 3 ways to give to charity without spending extra money (I took out the volunteering one to tighten it, though I do mention it).
Dewey Decimal system explained, a simple way to make the library’s catalog work for you.
This one draws from my years working as a library page (shelver). I got to know the Dewey intimately. I’m a nerd. But I learned the more important lesson that you can use it well without knowing all the call numbers and such. I, however, enjoy my nerdy memorization, so that if I want to find books on pet cats I just go to 636.8. (or is it .7? sometimes I get cats and dogs mixed up) Personal finance is 332. Especially 332.024.
Quilters for Charity: Use Your Leftover Fabric to Fund Alzheimer’s Research
Not many quilters read my blog, after all it’s targeted at personal finance. But I’ve found the work I’ve been doing for the Alzheimer’s Art Quilt Initiative so fulfilling that I really wanted to share it. If you’re not a quilter, you can always go and buy one of these quilts. 😉

hmm, swell. congrats! That is $18 more than I’ve made.
Yay! I’m so happy for you! Looks like you gonna have to up your goal next month.
That’s cool, congrats! I had not heard of Associated Content before, but I will check it out.
I’m just getting started in the personal finance blog world so there is no money coming in yet, but it’s nice to see people making it happen.
Congrats! You’re making great progress!
I see your fancy new domain and I like! 🙂
